The Ministry of Education has announced a number of measures under the new school bag policy. In the new policy, the weight of school bag of students from Std. 1 to 10 should not exceed 10% of their body weight. In this way the time limit of homework is also fixed as per the norm. 0 O No homework till standard 2 will be taken in school Weight fork Weight will be printed on books. The Union Ministry of Education has directed all the States and Union Territories to strictly implement this decision in the new academic session.
No homework till standard 2. Under the new policy, homework will not be given to students till standard two. 2 hours weekly homework for Std. 3 to 6, 1 hour daily homework for Std. 6 to 8 and Std. Homework should be limited to a maximum of 2 hours for 9 to 12.
Trolley bags should be banned Wheel bags should be banned according to the policy. This is because children can be injured when climbing stairs. It was also pointed out that schools need to ensure that the facilities provided to them are made available to them in adequate and good quality.
Weight forks will be used in schools Weight forks will be kept in schools to check the weight of children’s bags. As well as the weight of the daily children’s bags will be taken care of. Weights will be printed on books Publishers will have to print weights on the back of books. There will be a total of 3 books for the first standard. Which will weigh 1078 grams. There will be a total of 6 books for 12th standard students. Which will weigh up to 4182 grams. Students at the school will weigh 500 grams to 3.5 kilograms in their bags. While the weight of the notebook will be from 200 grams to 2.5 kilograms. This also includes the weight of the lunch box and water bottle.
